Rimco was recommended to me by a highly trusted individual after one of my cylinder heads
was damaged as a result of a bad rebuild (see "Jon's Motors" in the Bad section).

The less than stellar aspects of my encounter with Rimco were the lack of communication,
the lack of a detailed explanation of the work done, and the resulting price.

I emailed them twice and never got a response. I asked about this one of the times I called
and the guy said they received the mail but "we don't get much email". Since their web site
stated a complete head rebuild at $105 (each), I was a little taken aback by the nearly $600
final cost (plus shipping).

When I called to ask for a itemized list of services and cost, Rimco faxed me a copy
of their price sheet with a check mark next to a couple of entries.

The guy I spoke to each time I called was pleasant and informative, but it would have been
nice to get the call they promised when the heads shipped. Their arrival came as a belated surprise.

When I called Rimco for the first time to set up the shipment and work, I was told that the work
would take "a day, day and a half". Not counting shipping, it actually took nearly a month.
Again, communication. Altogether I called Rimco seven times, they called me only once.

When the heads finally arrived, there were no studs/bolts but they had installed inserts all around.
No big deal, but I wanted to know if they thought they sent them or not. I called and they were
apparently out to lunch so I left a message. They never called back.

Then I looked at the invoice that came in the box and in all upper case letters it said:

"CALL BEFORE SHIPPING"

The work, I'm very happy with and I'd deal with them again.
I'd just plan on more wait time and be the one making all the calls.
The heads are beautiful, and have all new valves, springs, and seats.
As of this writing (Nevember, 2006), I've had no trouble in a couple of thousand miles.
