Insulating Your Vehicle 3
I read some positive comments about "NASA Insulation" a thin, foil covered material with alleged
good sound deadening properties, but I was never able to find it outside of a couple of online stores
and it was, to me at least, expensive.
I also heard about a bubble-filled material but couldn't find that either.
What I ended up using was a pink colored styrofoam material.
The stuff I got was Owens Corning "Foamular 150" .
It came in 4' X 8' sheets and I got the 1" thick stuff.
It fit just about perfectly in between the Baltic Birch and the roof on my Westfalia and
was very easy to work with. It's tongue and groove and you can cut it with a knife.
I used duct tape wherever I had a joint between two pieces (especially where I couldn't use the T&G).
