Cylinder Heads

 

 

After about a hundred miles on the newly rebuilt top end,
I lost a cylinder (see Jon's Motors).

Upon removing the heads, I found the following:

1. One valve guide gone.

2. Valve springs collapsed.

3. Stem seals fitted.

4. Half of the manifold studs replaced with bolts and a stack of washers.

5. Blowby on the cylinder opposite the one with the missing guide.

Also gone was the $360 I paid Jon for the head rebuild.
