Once in a while, I find myself or others typing explanations of what something sounds like.
Silly really. There's nothing high-tech or quality about these recordings. I made them with
a little Sony recording Walkman and didn't bother with the external microphone.

Unless otherwise noted, all sounds are of my 1973 Westfalia with a '78 2 Litre with a
single , center-mount Weber Progressive, and an SVDA distributor with Pertronix installed.

"Icing" be damned.
I grew so weary of reading about what a horrible carb the Progressive is and how they cannot perform adequately in cold and damp, I added this. The recorder was on the passenger seat and facing forward (like me).
Vroom!
Warm Start, 37F and raining Same day as above and after an hour or so doing errands.
Less
Air at the Defrost Vent I installed an Attwood 4" "Turbo" bilge blower in my main pipe to boost the airflow up front. DON'T do this with a stock heat configuration. See the appropriate page. The blower is powered by a two-speed switch. On low it's pretty much not audible and the air flow is not bad. This is on high, again from the passenger seat.

Woosh!

Above, but closer Blower on high, recorder near the steering wheel. I'd say the air noise is slightly louder than the blower itself. On the road, it's hard to hear the blower.
Well blow me down...
Bad CV Not at all what I'd expect a worn Constant Velocity Joint to sound like.
Clunky CV Joint
