The class is a primer on the essential basics of digital imaging along with professional
photography techniques. I do not teach students about the features of their personal digital cameras
and a digital
camera is not required.
Believe me, film camera owners are more than welcome.
My intent is to offer an accurate comparison between film and digital capture
and to demistify the digital world for regular people. Armed with the essential knowledge
I provide in the first session, students learn the techniques the professional photographer
uses to make their images, well, "professional-looking" (2nd session).
After this second session, we meet in the field for a photo shoot together where I oversee
the student's application of the pro photo techniques and answer any questions that arise.
On the last session, we meet back in the classroom to view eachother's images taken during
the outing and discuss what we've learned and what could have been done better.
